Introduction to cemented carbide:
Cemented carbide are powder metallurgy products mainly composed of hard phase and bonded phase. The hard phase is hard and consists mainly of various carbides. The main carbides are tungsten carbide (WC), titanium carbide (TiC), tantalum carbide (TaC) and niobium carbide (NbC). In most cases, cobalt is used as a bonding phase. In cemented carbide factories, cemented carbide is mixed, pressed and sintered.
Cemented carbide is often used in lathe tools, impact drill bits, glass cutter heads, ceramic tile cutters, hard and not afraid of annealing, but brittle quality. Belongs to the rare metal, with high hardness, wear resistance, strength and toughness is good, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and a series of excellent properties, especially its high hardness and wear resistance, even at 500ºC is basically unchanged, still has a high hardness at 1000ºC. Cemented carbide is widely used as tool materials, such as turning tool, milling cutter, planer, drill, boring cutter, etc., for cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals, plastics, chemical fiber, graphite, glass, stone and ordinary steel, but also can be used to cut heat-resistant steel, stainless steel, high manganese steel, tool steel and other difficult to process materials. The cutting speed of new carbide tools is now hundreds of times that of carbon steel.
Cemented carbide can also be used to make drilling tools, mining tools, drilling tools, measuring tools, wear-resistant parts, metal abrasives, cylinder linings, precision bearings, nozzles, etc.
